The Crested Serpent Eagle is a medium-sized bird of prey commonly found in forests and woodland areas across South and Southeast Asia. It has dark brown plumage, a distinctive crest on its head, bright yellow eyes and legs, and a powerful hooked beak. It feeds mainly on snakes and other reptiles, but may also eat frogs, small mammals, and birds. It is often seen perched quietly on a tree, watching the ground for prey. Its loud, distinctive call is another characteristic feature of this eagle.
