The President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic presented a pair of elephants as a royal gift to His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, consisting of one female elephant named “Romduol” and one male elephant named “Champa.”

This royal gift was presented as a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the governments and peoples of the two countries. His Majesty the King graciously accepted the pair of elephants with great pleasure and graciously entrusted them to the Royal Government of Cambodia to organize the official handover ceremony and to continue caring for and raising them at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre, Protected Forest and Arboretum.

Romduol was born on 6 June 2020, while Champa was born on 5 November 2020. Both elephants arrived at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre, Protected Forest and Arboretum on 7 May 2024.

You can enjoy feeding the elephants bananas, sugarcane, potatoes, and other foods. You can also have the unique experience of touching them and feeling the texture of an elephant’s skin.
