The Painted Stork is a large, elegant wading bird native to the wetlands and freshwater marshes of tropical Asia. It is easily recognized by its heavy, down-curved yellow bill, bare orange-yellow facial skin, and delicate pink tertial feathers that give it a "painted" appearance. These social birds typically forage in flocks within shallow waters, sweeping their partially open beaks back and forth until they feel prey to snap shut on. Their diet consists primarily of small fish, alongside frogs, crustaceans, and aquatic insects.
